develops curiosity, creativity and confidence while
gently introducing your toddler or preschooler to early
science and math concepts. Shorter, simpler 30-min.

MATH LAB (1st-3rd grade)
A
great class for kids looking for alternative ways to learn math
and master concepts for the SOLs. This class uses art, games, music, puzzles, models and other
hands-on activities to reinforce age-appropriate math SOLs,
including basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide),
fractions, measurement, estimation, graphing, sorting,
classifying, patterning and geometry. Math Lab also develops
spatial and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Take-homes include unique math tools, games and puzzles for
practicing at home.
50 mins. weekly. 10 weeks.
FALL: 9/8/09-11/14/09

ADVANCED
SCIENCE
All New Labs for 2009-2010.
Advanced Science is a small class available by application only,
designed for kids who have completed our Big Lab program or who
can demonstrate science and math proficiency similar to Big Lab
grads. Miss Angela, an inspiring young teacher and degreed
scientist, will work with our advanced scientists to solve
various science, math and engineering challenges, such as
generating heat through chemical reactions, designing
long-distance gliders, examining and preventing bacteria growth,
identifying native rocks and plant species & more.
Ages 8+. 50 mins. weekly. 40 weeks.
