Mrs. Marie Curie used chemistry to discover something very important:  radium.  Radium is used in many ways, and is especially important as an ingredient in cancer medicines.  Mrs. Curie was born in 1867, and was very smart and brave.  She worked hard in school, and never gave up on her experiments.  She earned the respect of scientists everywhere, and was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize.
