What
are your classes like?
Our classes are
totally hands-on, active and fun.
There is no boring “sage on the stage.” Rather, we focus
on getting kids to ask questions and think up their own creative
ways to find answers. Classes
involve many elements, including stories, music, movement, and lots and lots of hands-on experiments.
Our goal is to reach kids with all different kinds of
learning styles, and to get them to think.

How
do I know if my child will like science?
Science is in everything – art, music, movement, animals, nature,
weather, toys, cooking, bath-time, etc. Our classes use very familiar, fun, hands-on activities to
inspire kids to think about the world around them.
We call it “inventive play” – and we haven’t met a
kid yet who didn’t love it!

How
can a toddler or preschooler do science?
Isn’t it for older kids?
Science is really
about understanding the world and how it works.
Toddlers and preschoolers are among the very best scientists,
because they are so curious about everything.
The world is just one big experiment to them.
When your two-year-old drops things off her high-chair over
and over, it’s because she is exploring at least two scientific
concepts: cause and
effect, and falling (which she will later learn is caused by
gravity). When your
preschooler pours one cup of water into another, back and forth for
an hour straight, it’s because he is exploring the concepts of
volume, forms of matter (liquids vs. solids and gases), and energy
transference. Not that
he will know those big words – those will come later – but he is
learning to understand and think about the different things in his
world.
