SAFETY NOTE:  This mixture expands so do not place in an airtight container for a few days.

The Science:  Epsom salts are actually made of a compound called magnesium sulfate. This is a chemical that contains magnesium, sulfur and oxygen. Epsom salts are used primarily as bath salts.  People use it to soak their tired feet or for soaking minor sprains and bruises.  Epsom salts are also used as a food supplement for plants.
