TEACHING ASSISTANT

Position.  C-Zone Assistant Teachers help to lead kids ages 1-5 or 5-11 through an inquiry-based, hands-on curriculum.  Tremendous opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding, team-oriented company. 

Responsibilities.  C-Zone TAs are responsible for assisting in our kid-sized science laboratory by: 

• Preparing for the experiments for each class.

• Assisting the teacher in instruction.

• Helping students execute their experiments.

• Observing and making note of students’ learning styles and abilities.

• Setting up and straightening up the lab.

Minimum Job Qualifications.  C-Zone TAs must:

• Have a demonstrated ability to inspire, entertain and teach kids.

• Be fun-loving, warm and high-energy, and have a sense of humor.

• Be highly intelligent.

• Have a passion for science and creative thinking.

• Maintain a neat and clean appearance.

• Speak clear English; second-language skills are a plus.

• Have basic computer skills.

• Be a team player.

• Be physically able to perform classroom demonstrations and activities effectively and safely.

• Be physically and psychologically able to maintain a safe, orderly environment with large groups of young children in a highly active setting.

• Consent to and pass a criminal and health background check for working with children.

• Be a U.S. citizen.

• Be at least 16 years of age.

• Be drug-free.
